Bellevue Chiropractor Shows You Adjustments to Your Golf Game | Golf Club
More and more you are seeing professional golfers use chiropractic care to stay at the top of their games. Lori West, how is a professional golfer says that the reason she is still playing golf today is because of chiropractic care. Almost 2 decades ago she visited the chiropractor for the first time and says that it immediately improved her golf game.
As you look at the golf swing, in and of itself, it is quite hard on the back. As you work to perfect your swing it puts a tremendous amount of strain on your spine. This strain comes because as you swing through the golf ball, the hips stop at one point while your shoulders continue to rotate. As a Bellevue chiropractor I see this all the time in my golfing patients. The result is back pain.
Here is some golf advice from you local Bellevue chiropractor. Always spend plenty of time stretching before any golf activity, warming up your hips and shoulders. Put a club across your shoulders and lean left and right. Raise a club above your head and gently pull back to loosen the shoulders. Grab the club backwards – so if you normally swing right-handed, you’d grab it like you’d be swinging left-handed- and take 10 practice swings that way. You’re stretching different muscles and it will help you loosen up considerably. Do some gentle neck rolls and stretch’s. This helps to mobilize the shoulder girdle and take pressure off of the shoulders. Flexibility is the most important aspect of a golf game.
Balance is also a large part of a good, consistent golf game. The foundation of balance is the spine, and an unhealthy spine does not allow for proper balance. In some cases I have found that arch supports in the shoe is the key to creating a balanced spine and a balanced golf game.
Chiropractors care for your body as a whole, not just the back. So if your golf game is feeling out of sync, chiropractic may be just the very adjustment that your body and game needs!
