I have a degree in sports science and exercise physiology plus a degree in physiotherapy. Here are the letters after my name if you care about that stuff: BSc(Hons) Physio, Acup. ACP, BSc(Hons) SpSc. Anyway, as a sports scientist, you could say I know a little bit about getting the most out of the body!

I’m also a keen golfer but with working full time and a young family unfortunately I don’t get out to play as much as I like. But when I do play I love to hit long drives just like I imagine you do.

The reality however was that when I played golf, my “good” drive only went about 220 -225 yards (if that seems long to you keep in mind I’m young, fit, strong and athletic). I would get so frustrated and embarrassed always being the first to hit into greens because of my short drives.

So after another embarrassing game littered with short, wayward drives I decided enough was enough. I made a firm decision to solve my short drives problem once and for all.

As a sports scientist, naturally I did some research into what is needed to hit longer drives. I wasn’t looking for tips or magic bullets, but real solutions to this problem. I quickly discovered that the best way to hit the ball further is to simply increase swing . It was a fact…I was hitting my drives only 220-225 yards because my swing was about 90 mph.
