The 2023 Sentry Tournament of Champions kicks off a new year on the PGA Tour, and according to the Tournament of Champions betting odds via BetMGM, a familiar face finds himself as the betting favorite. Here’s what you need to know.

Tournament of Champions odds: This week’s favorites

Jon Rahm spent a lot of time as a pre-tournament betting favorite in early 2022, but he only made good on those bets one time last season, when he won the Mexico Open. One of his near-misses, though, came at this very tournament, where he finished one shot behind winner Cameron Smith.

This week, Rahm is back in the top spot with +650 odds to win. The man the oddsmakers have in second place is the player who took over the No. 1 ranking from Rahm last spring, and earned a bunch of betting favorite nods himself: Scottie Scheffler, who comes in at +900 to win this week.

Neither of those players are locks, though. The field for this week’s Tournament of Champions may be small, but it is loaded with all the best players on Tour (save for Rory McIlroy).

Tournament of Champions odds: Long shot of the week

You had to win a PGA Tour event in 2022 to earn a tee time this week, so true long shots are hard to come by. But the player that oddsmakers have at the bottom of their odds-to-win ranking fits the bill.

Ryan Brehm and his wife, Chelsey, celebrate their victory at the Puerto Rico Open.
‘A special week’: Ryan Brehm, wife, team up for remarkable victory to secure PGA Tour card

Ryan Brehm is a journeyman pro who turned 36 last April. One month earlier, he made his first start of the 2021-22 season at the Puerto Rico Open. It also looked like it would be his last, because without a win he would have lost his PGA Tour status for good. Incredibly, Brehm pulled off the unlikely victory, saving his career.

Things have not gone great since, and Brehm has so far missed the cut in all seven events he’s played in the current 2022-23 season. As a result, his odds are +75000 this week, or twice as bad as the next player on the list. Should he win, he could transform a $10 bet into $7,500.

You can see the top 10 in Tournament of Champions betting odds as of Tuesday afternoon below, or head over to BetMGM to see the full list of odds and bets for this week.
