5, 9 and 500: Some key numbers to take away from the Valspar Championship’s second day

It’s the final leg of the Florida Swing. It’s the third-to-last PGA Tour stop before the first major of the season. And the 2024 Valspar Championship has produced an absolutely clogged leaderboard.

The Copperhead Course at Innisbrook is known for the Snake Pit and Friday’s second round was known for just enough weather to slow the field down.

Scoring was at a premium with anyone who shot a 4-under 67 tying for low round on the day. Eight players in all did just that, including one of the five golfers tied for the lead.

While there were 10 big names who missed the cut this week, there are five golfers tied for the lead, with nine more a shot back and 29 within three shots of the lead.

Here are some other numbers to know from Friday at the Valspar.
