Nicklaus Design and Tiger Woods’ architecture firm, TGR Design, have built golf courses all over the world.
But there’s only one place where their work sits side by side: Jack’s Bay.
Situated on the lush southern coast of Eleuthera, in the Bahamas, Jack’s Bay is a 1,200-acre luxury club and residential community overlooking a land-meets-ocean idyll where pink-sand beaches give way to hidden caves, coral reefs and other natural wonders.
The man-made amenities aren’t shabby, either.
Among the highlights are a pair of marquee courses: the Playground, a 10-hole short course by TGR Design, set to open next year; and an 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Heritage® Championship Course, which is slated for completion in 2026.
As the countdown ticks toward those ribbon-cuttings, other projects at Jack’s Bay have been completed, including a newly unveiled collection of homes called the Playground Residences. Comprising 23 fully-furnished two, three and four-bedroom homes that are the only properties adjacent to both the TGR and Nicklaus Design courses, the Playground Residences do more than meet the first rule of real estate: location.
Ranging in size from 2,172-3,072 square feet, they’re designed to match the splendor of the setting, with windows that welcome the gentle light of morning, and cozy reading nooks that bring in the waning rays of sunset. And at any time of day, there is the soothing sound of waves and the spectacle of sweeping Atlantic views. Each residence also has a private pool, rooftop deck, wet bar with wine storage and covered carport for two vehicles.
“These are going to be great places for people to enjoy spectacular views in a beautiful setting and also to take advance of the easy of access to our courses,” says Jonas Mikals, managing director of sales for IMI Worldwide Properties, the real-estate brokerage firm behind Jack’s Bay. “You can wander out in the afternoon and play a few holes with your kids, or hang out with your friends with an adult beverage in your hand. Making memories is really what it’s all about.”
Phase I of Jack’s Bay will debut in early 2025 with a slate of other amenities in place, including an expansive Atlantic Clubhouse, complete with a pool, fitness center, racquet sports, spa and beachside restaurant. Four Atlantic Club Cottages will also be ready, resplendent additions to the club’s residential offerings.
A 10-minute drive from Rock Sound Airport — which is serviced by direct flights from South Florida and Nassau — Jack’s Bay is at once accessible and secluded, a hideaway set along four miles of pink-sand beaches, with a private meditation lake, sea turtle sanctuary and two private islands.
The Playground Residences start at $1,995,000. Owners will have the option to place their homes within Jack’s Bay rental management program, and some units will allow for the addition of a guest suite over the covered parking.
